The ingredients needed to make Simple Mapo Tofu:
  1. Make ready 220 grams Mixed ground beef and pork
  2. Take 1 clove Garlic (finely chopped)
  3. Get 1 clove Ginger (finely chopped)
  4. Get 5 cm Green onion (finely chopped)
  5. Make ready 1 tsp Doubanjiang
  6. Get 200 ml ★Water
  7. Get 1/2 cube ★Soup stock cube
  8. Get 1 tsp ★Chicken soup stock granules
  9. Make ready 2 tbsp ★Sugar
  10. Prepare 50 ml ★Sake
  11. Prepare 60 ml ★Soy sauce
  12. Take 1/2 bunch Chinese garlic chives
  13. Make ready 1 block Tofu
  14. Prepare 1 1/2 tbsp Sesame oil
  15. Get 1 Liquefied Katakuriko
Instructions to make Simple Mapo Tofu:
  1. Drain the tofu.
  2. Put some oil in a pot and then stir fry the garlic, ginger, and green onions. Once aromatic, add in the doubanjiang. For kids: I only use 5 g of the doubanjiang!
  3. Next, add the meat and stir fry.
  4. Add in the ★ ingredients and then skim off any scum that rises.
  5. Add the tofu (pre-cut into bite size pieces), and the Chinese garlic chives. Bring to a boil.
  6. Pour in the sesame oil and katakuriko slurry. Once it thickens, it's ready.
